Spot Landing Contest

This years Spot Landing Contest will be the same rules as last year with trophies for the first three places. Contestants will depart in order and one at a time so that each competitor has the pattern to themselves. This is to ensure that competitors can fly their aircraft precisely in the manner they desire in order to have the best chance of hitting the target on the runway. As usual, Civil Air Patrol cadets will assist in marking each landing attempt. Pilots will be required to reduce power to idle before turning base and to announce that fact on 122.7. Any pilot who subsequently adds power will be disqualified on that pass. Each pilot will get three passes (including any disqualified passes); the closest landing of the three will be counted for the competition. Landing point will be measured from the point of first touchdown of each aircraft’s main wheels either forward or backward to the runway target.

Rules

•Competitors sign up in advance if at all possible

•Competitors will be assigned a competition order (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.)

•Taxi across runway and back taxi up runway 03 grass and hold short of runway 21 hard surface
